Your Legislators Are Always Working
Even though the Washington state legislature is part-time—meeting in regular session for only 105 days (in odd years) or 60 days (in even years), typically augmented by a few more days to finish necessary work ("special session")—most legislators work on draft legislation, campaigns, and committees throughout the remainder of the year ("interim"). What this means is, the interim between sessions is a good time to introduce yourself to your legislators, write them letters, give them a call, and get to know their staff. Use the Legislature's district finder and your home address to find out more about your state legislators and where to find them.
