2004 WALE Conference Scholarships

The Connie Nicholson Memorial Scholarship is available for four selected applicants who would not be able to attend the conference without financial assistance. Connie served on the 1994 and 1995 WALE Conference Planning Committees. Connie's dedication to WALE was evident to those who had the good fortune to work with her. This scholarship is in her memory. Scholarship includes registration, lodging, and travel up to a total of $350.

Scholarship Criteria:

1. Current WLA and WALE Interest Group Member.
   If you are not a current member, go to the WLA website. There you may apply for membership online or print a membership form to mail. You may also call the WLA Association Coordinator, Gail Willis, at 1-800-704-1529 to obtain a membership form. You must be a current member before the application deadline to qualify.
2. Library work experience.
3. Personal statement telling us why you want to attend this conference, how you hope to benefit from attending, and why you feel you should be selected.
4. Letter of recommendation.
5. Demonstrated financial need.
