  • Catherine Lord discussed Ice Breakers for WLA conference in August.  Elizabeth Iaukea will take Ice Breakers, finish and make color copies.

      • Needs assessment survey for 2005
      • Budget is in process for June
      • Zoomerang Online software allows for compiling data and gives info back for libraries to ask, helps to build questionnaire – we are licensed for a year = 10,000 queries

      • Sno-Isle will be purchasing a new phone system this fall

      • Gale data bases training and in house expert to train other staff
      • Time and attendance software – automated/vendor trained seven staff members.  System will bring it up region by region

      • Bldg project design management Aug. 26 & 27 – Highline CC you can apply for a CE grant – 2 days of training.  Software is free part of their price tag.  Room for 22 people.
      • Medline training – U of W health science training – state wide
      • Census training after Gates training in the fall.
      • Virtual Reference training at KCLS  May 4th – Mary Ross designed class for State
      • Preservation grants – U of W preservation of photographs – go to state website and check it out
      • WILL 2005 dealing with difficult patrons
    • Amy Ravenholt
      • System focusing on Technology – thin client based open source, open office and Star office
      • Working on assessment and analyzing staff training
      • Bringing in speaker for Staff Development Day

      • Customer Service –What’s available for WALT to promote
      • New building opening May 23
      • October 22 - WALT meeting at new Seattle Public Library
      • Class room training “Ready for Reference”
        • Resource materials for all staff
        • Training and reference interview skills  - two 4 hour workshops

      • WLA CE is coordinated by Mary Stillwell for August
    • Catherine Lord
      • Laurel Steiner starts May 3 as Staff Coordinator bringing great ideas to KCLS, Catherine has taken a new position within KCLS
      • Catherine will still be training, just not the coordinator
      • Catherine is looking forward to working with databases and public
