Join the Washington Library Association and the Washington State Library in celebrating Library Snapshot Day, April 7-20, two weeks of advocacy for our libraries, archives, and special collections across the state!

Show us a “day in the life” at your library or repository! We want to see your programs, your collections, your people (with their permission, of course!), your catalogs, your shelves, your study spaces, your meetings… ALL THE THINGS!

We’d also love to read “all the things,” so share your anecdotes or statistics with us in the comments: How many times today did you help someone work on a résumé? How many people did you help apply for a job online? How many story hours did you offer today, and to how many attendees? How many DVDs did you check out to customers today? How many people came through your library's doors?

Please encourage both your staff and your patrons to snap and upload photos to social media, and to tag them with #LibrarySnapshot

Your participation makes this a success; the greater the turnout, the greater the impact! Take the pictures and spread the word!

Looking for non-photo options? Upload your textual anecdotes and tag them with #LibrarySnapshot! Use our full-page and half-page branded templates to increase patron engagement.

Check out previous #LibrarySnapshot images on Tumblr, as aggregated by Washington State Library outreach librarian Nono Burling, and on Instagram!

The WLA office is here to help you, so please contact us if you need any assistance.
