
2025 WLA Conference Scholarships
The Washington Library Association is pleased to offer the Primary Source Scholarship for Small & Rural Libraries to attend the 2025 WLA Conference, April 10-12 at the Tacoma Convention Center.
Primary Source partners with libraries and library support organizations to maximize their efficiency, relevancy, and community impact.
To be eligible for the Primary Source Scholarship:
- Applicants must be current WLA members who work in a public small and/or rural library. According to the Institute of Museum & Library Services, small libraries have a service population of 25,000 or fewer. Rural libraries are located 5 or more miles from the nearest town of 25,000 or more.
- Scholarship funds must be used to attend the in-person 2025 WLA Conference.
- Applicants must have financial need (e.g., no employer assistance, underemployed, enrolled student).
The scholarship recipient will be awarded up to $1,200 to cover the costs of full conference registration, attendance at up to two preconference workshops, up to three nights of lodging, and travel reimbursement.
Timeline
- Wednesday, Feb. 12: Applications Open
- Monday, Feb. 24 by 11:59 a.m.: Application Deadline
- Tuesday, March 4: Applicants Notified of Application Status
- Wednesday, March 5: Winner Announced
If scholarship status notifications are delayed for any reason until after March 10, 2025, the date when conference Early Bird registration closes, all applicants will be notified and will receive a registration form code to retroactively receive Early Bird pricing on their registration fees.
