2022 Special Libraries Crawl
The Washington Library Association’s Special Library Division and the Special Library Association’s PNW Chapter (SLA PNW) are once again teaming up to present a series of informational events to help our members learn more about special libraries in our region: The 2022 Special Libraries Crawl.
The first of the 2022 series took place on June 3 from noon-1:30 p.m. and introduced us to the world of Zine Libraries. View the recording! The recording is also available through Niche Academy, and includes resources and links mentioned during the event.
Attendees received virtual tours of the Olympia Timberland Library’s Zine Library, the Seattle Public Library’s ZAPP Collection, and the Collins Library Zine Collection at the University of Puget Sound.
“Zines (pronounced "zeen" like "bean") are self-published magazines with limited print runs, often printed using photocopiers. They can be on any topic and are usually written by one person or a few individuals. They typically provide an individual or alternative point of view.” - Timberland Regional Library’s Zine site
